Apparently we live in Seattle....

I've never been to Seattle, but I did see that movie Sleepless in Seattle (which I believe makes me an expert on the subject) and I remember the little boy saying that it rains 7 months out of the year there... and that seems like what we've been enduring around here lately. Rain. Lots. Of. Rain. Actually, this is what our March has looked like thus far:

Weekend 1: 5 inches of snow
Weekend 2: 70+ degrees and b e a u t i f u l
Weekend 3: Approximately a million inches of rain (I'm approximating but I believe that is accurate) and freezing cold.

Baxter refuses to go outside during inclement weather. This past weekend he opted instead for the cozy couch and even he loves the SNUGGIE!!!"Leave me alone!"

I don't know about you, but I am ready for SPRING so I'm hoping Weekend # 4 will bring warmer weather!!

S N O W D A Y!!

On Monday we awoke to just under 4 inches of snow! That is a lot for our area! It was really beautiful and definitely the prettiest snow we've had this year.

Rocky and Baxter

Kohana LOVES the snow! It was a husky paradise outside!

Franklin and his trusty tennis ball which was much more like a large snow ball

One happy husky... ready to play!

Winnie and Annabelle

Even Baxter was having fun!

Baxter mid-shake. He is always good for a funny photo!

Lots of snow! Annabelle, Winnie, Franklin and Baxter scouting out the snowy back yard.

Airplane Ears.... aka Oliver

Baxter

Silly husky.... and Franklin trying to pick up his snow (tennis) ball

David came out to play after work! Rocky was super hyper and excited as was Franklin

Sweet husky dog :)

Circus!

David and I didn't have any exciting Valentine's Day plans. Both of us were working that day and we decided not to make such a fuss over it this year. But on Sunday we were anxious to find something fun to do. We couldn't think of anything great since I had to work most of the day. At the last minute, we decided to go to the circus! It was a pretty random idea but we had a great time!

r o c k y

Rocky has been in David's life longer than any of our other dogs. David rescued him from the Union County Animal Shelter in the spring of 2002 while he was a freshman...living in a dorm. In September of 2002 the housing department must have spent thousands of dollars on spy equipment to catch David and his elusive dog (read: Rocky spent his days staring out the open dorm window barking at birds). Somehow they caught him. It remains a mystery to this day. They gave David 48 hours to get rid of Rocky. David's maternal grandparents came to the rescue and opened their heart and home to this large, loud, and hyperactive dog. They would take Rocky and give him a temporary home until the end of the summer when he would return to being David's responsibility. As the end of summer neared, it became clear to David that his grandparents had fallen in love with Rocky (and obviously vice versa) and he did not want to take him away from them. He continued to see Rocky and play with him when he would visit his grandparents.

....fast forward to September 2006...

If you've ever met Rocky you know that he is a large dog. In September of '06 he weighed about 120 lbs. But Rocky is not a large lazy dog. He is a large hyper dog that has no concept of his size. This became difficult for his grandparents and they made the very tough decision for Rocky to come and live with us. It was a very difficult decision for them to make but at the same time they were happy he would be living with David again and that he would have (at the time) 3 brothers to play with.

Since Rocky has moved in, he has decided that although he is the oldest of our pups he wants to pretend he is the youngest and continue to be the definition of hyperactivity. He is always happy and wagging his tail and he is our only dog that loves water. We put a kiddie pool out specifically for him during the summer so that he can splash around and cool off after running around in the heat (the other dogs just think it is a huge water bowl). Although he is getting a little gray around the muzzle he is definitely young at heart and we are glad to have him in our lives.

Mamma Mia!

Last night David and I went to see Mamma Mia! David bought tickets as one of my birthday gifts (just to give him the credit deserves: he gave me new Uggs and tickets to the play. What did I give him? Nothing.) Moving on...I don't want to dwell on my awesome wifeness too long... We had a great time at the play. Two of the actresses had especially phenomenal voices and obviously the songs some of the costumes were a lot of fun!

Davidson vs. UNCG

Thursday night we went with some friends to the Davidson vs. UNCG game at the Greensboro Coliseum. The coliseum was packed. The parking attendants were making sure that everyone had already purchased tickets because the game was sold out. We were definitely not expecting so many spectators! Davidson bested UNCG though I think the Spartans did a pretty good job of holding on for most of the game. We had fantastic seats which is probably why I was able to watch the game. Otherwise I would have been distracted staring at the rafters or something...

Birthday Weekend

This past weekend marked the seventh year David and I have celebrated our birthdays together. I can't believe how quickly time is passing! We had a great weekend with friends and family and are hoping that this will be a fantastic year!
