paris, france

Paris is a magnificent place. I highly recommend you visit. Honestly, going to Paris merely to go to the Louvre is enough of a reason for me. We crossed the pond in April in order to celebrate C's 21st birthday. One of our first stops was the Louvre.

The architecture alone is stunning

I think you may recognize this lovely lady. She shares her large wall in the center of the room with no one and rests behind protective glass.
You may recognize her as well.

FYI: I love sculpture.

If you've seen any of my photographs from Italy you will notice that I am also deeply in love with the gorgeous painted ceilings.

The Louvre has a large section dedicated to ancient Egypt. David is always drawn to Egyptian history when we visit museums.
This is a tomb that has been re-assembled in the Louvre. It is fascinating.

A mummy. It is eerie to know there is an ancient body less than one foot from where you are standing but, at the same time, absolutely fascinating to see the level of detail, work, and preservation. I wonder what this person's life was like... who he was, what he did, etc. That is my favorite part of history- thinking and learning about individual lives...

Absolutely massive column. Probably 20 feet tall.
Animal related=I love it.

Stay tuned! More pictures to come in the upcoming days!
