Bambino Update :: 28 Weeks

Well, week 28 is here. We had our 28 week appointment yesterday afternoon and everything seems to be fine with the little bambino. Let's see... what is going on with him these days??

Well, first of all, it seems as though he has already chosen a career path. He kicks and punches quite a bit in there which makes it pretty obvious to me that he is practicing to be a ninja. His mighty training regimen makes my tummy look like it is straight out of the movie Aliens. You can not only feel the kicks but see him moving and bumping around in there. Some are sharp movements, some are just a wave-like motion across my stomach. Sometimes I think he gets frustrated with his cramped living quarters and, instead of kicking, tries to use my bladder as a trampoline-like launch pad that he hopes will catapult him to a utopian world where space will not be an issue. Either that or I'm sure he's hoping that at the very least he will be able to bump out the walls of his temporary home thus providing more room. It seems to me as though this plan isn't working very well since he continuously repeats this method to no avail. But I'm not concerned- I'm sure he'll just keep trying :)

For the most part I have no complaints. Sure, there are things that aren't the best but honestly I know that there are a lot of women who suffer much more than I have. Plus, I still have a few months left and I know the things that aren't so great now are only going to be magnified in the coming 12 weeks so it is best to maintain a positive attitude!! The one thing I'm not so hot on is this whole insomnia thing. For pretty much this entire time I've had a hard time sleeping. And, um, that is not something I am used to and I am not a fan... For example, I've been up since 4:30 a.m. today which on the one hand could mean that I get a lot done before the sun comes up. But, I pretty much either have to stay in bed and stare into the darkness or get up and go work quietly in my office as not to wake David (read: waking up the dogs means waking up David so I have to be veeeeewwwwwy vewwwwwy qwiiiieeeet and keep the lights in the main part of the house off). Of course Franklin always gets up with me. Always. No matter what time I get out of bed he hops up, tail wagging, happy, and cheerful. I wish he would teach me that...

Disclaimer: If these posts are rambling, disjointed, incoherent, etc. etc. etc. it is because of that whole 4:30 a.m. thing. My bad...
