Bambino Update :: 31 Weeks

Time is seriously flying by!! Only 9 weeks left....

The little bambino is growing really fast (or, at least, that's what they tell me...). Supposedly his weight is going to triple by the time he arrives! He's also putting on a little muscle as well as a lot of baby fat. According to what I've read, Baby is the size of a very large squash... The average bambino is 15.2-16.7 inches long and 2.5-3.8 pounds during the 7th month. He is also experiencing some serious brain and nervous system construction and he can react to lights as well as sounds. Sooooo hopefully he'll be used to the sound of barking dogs before he even arrives! :)

Overall, I have no complaints! I'm feeling pretty large and in charge which is a little worrisome since I'll be growing quite a bit over the next two months. My fear is that I will get stuck on the couch indefinitely until someone can help pull me up... much like a turtle stuck on his back. The positive side is that I know David will get a giant kick out of that!! But I'm sure it will get old once he has to roll me around the house like Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Too bad we don't have any Oompa Loompas around here that could be present to help yank me up out of the couch, chairs, bed, etc. whenever I seem to struggle. Actually, if we are going that route, let's try to get a full-time housekeeper, chef, farm hand, and personal assistant so that I can stay stuck in the couch indefinitely without having to worry about any work our household duties. That sounds much better!!

The nursery plans are really coming along! I think we have pretty much everything figured out except for a fabric for the glider and ottoman. As soon as pieces start coming in I'll upload pictures of the progress of the nursery. I want everyone to be familiar with it so that they know where to go when the diapers need a changin'!

Finally, I was very, very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful friends and family last weekend at our baby shower. I'm so appreciative of all who were able to make it! I have a few pictures of the day and I'll be putting those up very soon.
